Your child will still look like their beautiful self but will have a more balanced and natural appearance after cleft lip repair.
The number of surgeries depends in part by the type and severity of cleft lip.
Dr. Bradley attempts, with his techniques, to minimize the number of procedures while maximizing the outcome.
He will discuss specifics during your consultation.
Some children need a Cleft Lip Repair at 3 months, Cleft Palate Repair at 10 months, Secondary Cleft Rhinoplasty at 6 years, Alveolar Bone Graft at 8 years, Cleft Jaw Surgery at 16 years and Cleft Septorhinoplasty at age 17 as the final procedure.
Facial feminization (FFS) will allow you to express your authentic self.
Dr. Bradley's procedures will not only soften your facial features and make them more feminine but they will project your beauty.
Dr. Bradley's extensive training and prominent career in Craniofacial and Cosmetic Surgery has honed his skills to be able to provide the best outcomes.
This allows him to address all soft tissue (skin, fat, muscle) and hard tissue (bone, cartilage) modifications.
His methods utilize 3D imaging, virtual planning, and cutting-edge surgical instrumentation that he designed.
The best candidates have a history of transitioning and have been on hormonal therapy for over 1-2 years.
Although positive changes will happen on hormonal therapy, hard tissue (bony) changes are less likely than soft tissue (skin/fat/muscle) changes.
It is requested that 2 letters of medical necessity are provided by: 1) your hormone provider, and 2) your therapist.
After an initial consultation meeting, authorization approval will be obtained; patients will then go to get a 3D CT scan; Virtual planning is performed by Dr. Bradley; patients will return for a preoperative meeting to review the virtual planning and take 3D photographic images.
