Facelift is an excellent procedure to improve the contour of the neck, jowls and cheek areas.
We take great care in preoperative planning to optimize repositioning of the sagging cheek fat, tightening of the facial and neck tissues to achieve a natural youthful appearance.
The tissues are repositioned vertically and not stretched laterally in the direction of the ear.
We do not attempt to stretch corners of the mouth creating the stereotypic expression identified across the room.
Rather, with the vertical repositioning of facial soft tissues, natural rejuvenated youthful contours are created.
The pre and postoperative photographs which follow are from Menlo Park Plastic Surgery Center's teaching file.
For minor contour defects and wrinkling, non-surgical modalities such as Botox or fillers may provide satisfactory improvement.
