When evaluating patients for a rejuvenating procedure, the facial region is generally considered in sections or zones.
Each individual facial zone can be treated independently or in combination with others.
The "areas of the face" are the brow, upper and lower eyelids, and the mid-face, jowl and neck regions.
The peri-oral zone, around the mouth, is considered a distinct region as well.
A patient may only be interested in a particular area or zone, however it is important to have a comprehensive consultation by Dr. Papalian in order for all facial areas to be evaluated and considered in relationship to each other.
With age, for both women and men, the effects of gravity and repetitive muscle contraction result in changes to the soft tissues of the mid-face, jowl, and neck region.
Face-lifting, as one of the nation's most common cosmetic procedures, corrects these changes, restoring a more youthful appearance to the face.
Procedures including the full SMAS Facelift, Mini-Lift, Mid-Face Lift, and Neck Lift can address these signs of aging.
The facelift may be combined with other procedures, such as Blepharoplasty, Brow Lift, or Chin Augmentation, either at the same time as the facelift or in a staged approach.
