Visualize plastic surgery results easily and privately using the same technology that surgeons use. Colin D. Pero, MD, FACS, is double board-certified by the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ABFPRS) and the American Board of Otolaryngology/Head & Neck Surgery (ABOto). Dr. Pero has been in practice for over 10 years and is a well-known expert in his field with a record of excellence.

Dr. Pero lives with his wife, Roxanne, a local Obstetrician and Gynecologist in Dallas and their three young children, Gideon and twins Hugo and Lucie. I felt comfortable, safe, and confident that he could do a good job and he did an amazing job. Dr. Pero is an amazing doctor and I wouldn't see anybody else. I started to get bags under my eyes and my upper eyelids started to hang.

I also had a lower facelift done. A friend of mine had some work done by Dr. Pero and when I met him, it seemed like he had a good bedside manner. So, we talked, and of course, I wasn't thinking about doing anything cosmetically.

He is committed to preserving both form/function while addressing the individual cosmetic concerns of the patient. I've had septum and sinus surgery, botox, and rhinoplasty with Dr. Pero, and I'd recommend him for all of those procedures. I'm 1-month post op for my rhinoplasty, and I'm very happy with the results so far. The pictures he showed me when we were discussing what I wanted prior to the surgery seem to be accurate representations of the end result.

read more › Ethnic rhinoplasty is a term used to describe "nasal reshaping" that creates a balanced aesthetic outcome that preserves a patient's ethnic identity. Since the nose is the central feature of the face, any nasal flaws can dramatically affect appearance, drawing excess attention to itself and away from the eyes and mouth. Clients from diverse backgrounds often seek out an ethnic rhinoplasty specialist in order to refine and correct such flaws while also preserving the uniqueness of that person's ethnicity.

read more › A facelift, or rhytidectomy, is a surgical procedure that aims to reduce the signs of aging in the face and neck. During the procedure, the underlying muscle layers of the neck, jowls, and the cheeks are tightened, and excess skin is removed. One basic principle in facelifting is that the soft tissues of the face (skin, fat, and muscle) have begun to sag and create a deepening of facial creases and descent of fat pads in the cheeks, jowls, and neck. Jowls form along the lower jaw and the tissues of the neck tend to sag as well.

read more › Neck lift surgery is a less invasive alternative to facelift surgery that lifts, defines and rejuvenates the lower face and neck. It is often performed to remove excess fat beneath the chin and tighten loose skin in the neck. The goal of this cosmetic procedure is to slim your neckline and enhance the definition of your jawline to restore a more youthful facial appearance that is both cosmetically pleasing and rejuvenating. These conditions are often the result of aging, but may also be due to weight gain or weight loss, genetics, unprotected exposure to the sun, smoking, and improper nutrition-all of which contribute to or exacerbate unwanted cosmetic changes to the neck region.

read more › A blepharoplasty is a surgical procedure that rejuvenates the eyelids, restoring the lively, youthful appearance you desire. Blepharoplasty can be done to repair both upper and lower eyelids. Upper eyelid surgery is usually done to remove the redundant skin that overhangs the upper eyelid crease. During the procedure, an incision is placed at the eyelid crease, and excess skin is removed. The incision is closed with a tiny continuous stitch that is placed inside the skin to ensure optimal healing.

read more › A brow lift is a facial plastic surgery procedure that involves smoothing the forehead and elevating the eyebrows back to their proper position. Even though the ideal eyebrow varies among different races, ages, and genders, it is possible to define an ideal eyebrow that is suitable for every face. For men, the brow should be straight and lie slightly above the superior orbital rim. For women, the brow is gently curved and arches just slightly above the superior orbital rim. Many men and women who decide to have brow lift surgery are in their late forties and older.

read more › Liposuction is a cosmetic procedure that removes excess deposits of fat to slim and reshape specific areas of the body. It can be performed in the face and neck to improve the contour of the cheeks and area beneath the chin, helping to improve your appearance removing your double chin, jowls or even your turkey neck for a more defined look. You are healthy and do not have a life-threatening illness or medical condition that can impair healing. Because liposuction removes excess fat and doesn't improve sagging skin, the ideal patient is usually younger between the ages of 20 and 50, as younger patients typically have good skin elasticity, which is necessary for the skin to contract smoothly and evenly after liposuction.

read more › Otoplasty is a cosmetic surgical procedure performed to correct misshapen, asymmetrical, or protruding ears to improve facial symmetry and proportional facial balance. Prominent or misshapen ears can be a real source of significant emotional distress for both adults and children. Fortunately, this simple surgical procedure can often reshape the ears in a single procedure to enhance the overall cosmetic appearance of the ears. A child can have an otoplasty procedure done between the ages of 5 and 6 when the ear is fully developed and before the child is about to start school.

In the past, there were difficulties with the predictability of fat resorption after it was transplanted-sometimes it would last and other times it would not. Fortunately, the techniques have been refined in the last few years, greatly improving the predictability of fat transfer.

read more › Laser skin resurfacing is a procedure that uses a laser to improve the appearance of skin or treat minor facial flaws by precisely injuring the skin in a controlled manner. This controlled injury stimulates the skin to repair itself, causing new collagen formation and evening of pigmentation. At North Texas Facial Plastic Surgery, Dr. Pero uses a Fractionated Carbon Dioxide (CO2) laser that is effective in treating wrinkles, scars, pigmentation irregularities, and other conditions. The term fractionated refers to only a fraction of the skin is targeted, allowing for an untreated "halo" of surrounding uninjured skin that allows for rapid regeneration and quick healing with minimal downtime.

read more › Lip augmentation is a cosmetic procedure that makes lips appear fuller and increases the vertical height of the red portion of the lip itself. This is accomplished by tunneling either a patient's own tissue or an implant beneath the surface of the lip. Injectable dermal fillers containing hyaluronic acid (e.g., Restylane, Juvederm Ultra Plus, Juvederm Volbella) are most commonly used for lip augmentation. Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance found in the body that can improve the appearance of your lips, adding shape, structure, and volume.
