Dr. Choe knew he wanted to become a surgeon early on in his life. He remembers the anatomy class during his junior year in high school and how much he enjoyed the dissection lab. Dr. Choe spent several summers during his medical school shadowing a well-known cardiothoracic surgeon in his hometown of Tacoma, Washington. He imagined being a famous heart surgeon someday.It wasn't until his senior year in medical school that he realized that facial plastic surgery had better suited his life goals. Dr. Choe received his undergraduate degree with honors from Occidental College and his medical degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine Dentistry. He completed his Head Neck surgical training at the New York Eye Ear Infirmary in Manhattan under the tutelage of some of the world's preeminent head, neck and plastic surgeons.
